Application
This specification covers multipair cables used in the provision of voice and data services and the interconnection of electrical equipment and instruments, particularly in and around process plants, where transducer generated signals are transmitted through marshaled circuits to panels, controllers and associated devices.
Cable as per BS-EN-50228-7:2005(BS-5308) are widely used throughout the petroleum industry.
Type-1:Unarmoured cables are generally for indoor applications.
Type-2:Armored cables are suitable for burial underground.
These cables are designed for use in Group II intrinsically safe systems. However it must be noted that cables used when installing a safe system are required to confirm any relevant requirement on the certification documents, either for the system or for the intrinsically safe and associated apparatus forming parts of the system.
Cable should also be suitable for the environment in which they are going to be used.

Type -1
- Annealed Bare Stranded Copper Conductor IEC-60228
- Insulation Cross Linked Polyethylene (XLPE)
- Individual and over all Aluminum Mylar Screened

Type -2

Unless specified otherwise,cable will be supplied with a black sheath. The beddings for Type2 and Type3 are in accordance with the standard. Any deviation on color means the cable can only be supplied as generally to the standard.
Note:Instrumentation fire resistant cable as per IEC 60331 750C,Power cable as per BS7846, IEC 60331 750C & 900C can be manufactured as per request.
