INSTRUMENTATION CABLES*
Description –They are well suited for areas subject to signal interference. The braiding provided has a dual purpose; it can be used as an earth by grounding and can act as a screen which reduces the effects of electrical disturbances from parallel running wiring substantially. In case, if pairing of cores are provided then the cross-talk attenuation levels are conformed to acceptable standards. Customization in these cables is very high. There are options to include individual and overall wrapping of cores or choose either depending up on the client application requirements. Due to the use of such cables for delicate purposes, there are options of providing armouring as well. By providing an armour layer, the mechanical strength of the cable increases. This in turn increases its ability to withstand higher tensile stress and forced movements.
They are widely used in measurement, communication and data acquisition systems. They also find applications in microprocessor based/computerized instrumentation systems.
